About me

Background

I was trained at a dog-walking business in NYC, and spent a year gaining experience. I have around 2000 walks without incident or injury.

Given I've always loved caring for pets, it's not a surprise I fell in love with the profession. I also know it takes a lot to care for them, and I'm glad to help out busy owners and give your dogs some company and a fun little adventure!

I've walked many different personality types and energy levels, and have gained a great sense of what individual dogs need from a walker, keeping them managed and safe while making sure they have a great time out!

After a while, I wanted to step things up, that's why I left my old job and started Rusty's dog walking, to provide services to pet parents in my own neighborhood!

Fully Insured

My dog-walker's insurance covers a wide range of occurances, just in case. I also make use of backup collars, gps trackers and professional leash handling methods for added safety during walks.

Respect

I will always respect your dogs boundaries, focusing more on calm management, positive reinforcement, and reassurance. Calmness and confidence from the walker does a lot to comfort dogs on a walk. Also I'm careful not push them if they're uncomfortable for reasons like health, weather conditions, or fatigue.

Reliability

I can ensure a high level of communication, transparency, consistancy. I am reliable, showing up in unfavorable weather conditions, and can alter the walk for you dog's comfort.

Safety Gear

On every walk, I use a backup "slip" collar on every walk in addition to their collar or harness. The slip collar is paired with a GPS tracker, just in case of an emergency.

Customized Care

I schedule a meet-and-greet to get to know your dog's needs and personality. That way, I'm aware of their quirks, needs, habits, stressors, and energy levels, and can make sure the walk is safe and enjoyable for each individual dog.

Keeping You Updated

Through the app Walkies, I provide at least two photos of your dog during every walk, pickup and dropoff notifications, gps tracking whether they pooped or peed, and a walk report so you know how they're doing.
